Getty has announced an autumn programme at the Getty Center and Getty Villa, combining performances, family workshops, talks and food events with its current exhibitions. The programme is scheduled to run through December, while the Getty Center is due to close temporarily for renovations beginning in March 2027.

Among the events listed in the 24 September announcement was ‘Ever Present: A Moveable Feast of No: No Wave Women with Adele Bertei’, scheduled for 4 October at the Center. The evening was to revisit women in New York punk and No Wave through experimental music, performance and guitar players moving through the site, with the Bush Tetras billed as headliners.

The Center’s Family Festival: LA and Mexico in Focus is scheduled for 17 October. Getty describes the free, daylong programme of mariachi, ballet folklórico, bilingual storytelling and workshops as inspired by ‘Instante/revelación: Moments in Mexican Photography’ and ‘Every Minute Is History: Five Views of Los Angeles’. The festival itself does not require a ticket, according to its calendar listing, but visitors need a timed-entry reservation for the Center and must pay for parking.

Food programming separates ancient-food interpretation from the Getty Library-based ‘Tastemakers’ series. ‘Bacchus Uncorked: Beer in Ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt’, scheduled at the Villa on 10 October, was to pair presentations on ancient beer culture with modern brews informed by historic practices. At the Center, the two scheduled Tastemakers supper-club events, ‘The Literary Gourmet’ on 11 October and ‘La Belle Époque’ on 22 November, draw on Getty Library cookbooks and bring together chefs, scholars and culinary figures.

The announcement also scheduled a 4 October talk on ‘Odilon Redon: Otherworldly Visions’ by curator Danielle Canter and conservator Michelle Sullivan. Getty said ‘Seen/Unseen: A Closer Look at Odilon Redon Drawings’ would offer new insights into Redon’s methods; those insights were not set out in the announcement.
