Tate Britain has scheduled ‘Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury’ from 12 November 2026 to 11 April 2027. Organised with Charleston, the exhibition is intended to examine Bell and Grant’s relationship and creative partnership, which Tate says spanned more than 50 years. Tate lists more than 300 works, ranging from portraits, still lifes and landscapes to decorative work on furniture, ceramics and textiles. The selection is planned to consider the artists’ shared endeavours while setting out their individual practices. A central proposed display is a restaging of Bell and Grant’s studio from Charleston, their home in Sussex. Tate describes the room as relocated for the exhibition, but does not specify the works or objects to be included. The exhibition returns Tate to a subject it has addressed before, though on a different scale and with a broader cast. Yale Center for British Art describes ‘The Art of Bloomsbury’, organised by the Tate Gallery and curated by Richard Shone, as the first major exhibition dedicated to the group’s artistic achievements. That show opened at Tate Gallery on 4 November 1999 and later travelled to the Huntington Library and Yale. Tate’s forthcoming presentation narrows its focus to Bell and Grant, whom it identifies as central members of the Bloomsbury Group. It is scheduled for Tate Britain’s lower floor.
